AmeriGas Propane Fraudulent Charges

I received a bill for $354.54 for refilling 3 100 lb propane tanks that do not exist on our property. I had to fight with them in 2021 about the same issue. I have been trying to get assistance for a technician to come out to our office and show me what was filled. Apparently there are no available techs in the Marietta, GA area. On February 8th, I was told by a resolution supervisor that our account would be cleared of these erroneous charges and an email sent confirming what she told me that day. I never received an email, their collection company is now emailing me and nothing was done per the conversation with the supervisor.

I called again today 3/23/23, after speaking with a customer service rep, she put me on hold for 5 minutes, upon returning to speak with me she had a terrible connection and put me in to answer a survey! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Desired outcome: Please void this invoice and any and all late fees associated with it. I have been trying for months to get resolution, your company cannot accommodate my requests to come to the office and clarify what the technician supposedly filled.

AmeriGas Propane Tank ownership dispute - no response from customer service

When I purchased my home the previous owner and the real estate agents told me the LP tank came with the property. AmeriGas keeps sending me bills for tank rental. So, I called customer support and they told me to send an email with documents and agent contact info. I did, but never received a reply even after sending multiple emails. AmeriGas's customer support is a complete joke. To top it off their LP is the most expensive in the area and they include about $40 of hidden fees that no other LP provider in the area charges. AmeriGas is an absolutely horrible company.

Desired outcome: I would like to resolve the tank ownership dispute.

AmeriGas Propane billing

my name is Diana Lawhead i was a customer of Amerigas. My issue is after i cancelled my account. I was billed for your tech to come to my residence to pickup your tank. I paid this bill . then i received another bill saying my payment was late when my check already cleared my bank.this needs to be taken off my account and account closed i will contact Raymond Kaszuba later this week if this problem is NOT resolved.

AmeriGas Propane Not fulfilling scheduled appointments

Scheduled Appointment for tank removal:

3/9/23 - Scheduled pick-up - no show - no call

3/9/23 - I called Amerigas - no explanation given, just an apology and re-

scheduling date.

3/13/23 - Re-scheduled pick-up - no show -no call. Upon request, I was given the service # [protected] and a pick-up time between 8:45-9:15 a.m.

3/13/23 - I called AmeriGas. Again, no explanation given, another apology.

and a re-scheduled date.

3/17/23 - Re-scheduled pick-up - no show - no call

3/17/23 - I called a third time - same rhetoric. Taked with associate in the

Resolution Team Department. No information was given as to why

my appointments were no shows. Associate did state that my 3/17

was not scheduled for the 17th, but for 3/22. Upon request, I was

given case # CAS-6807784.

3/22/23 - Re-scheduled pick-up appointment for 3/22 at 10:30 a.m. per

Resolution Team associate.

This is an unfortunate and unacceptable Amerigas customer service practice. I have lost work time and income three times because of your requirement to be present for service.

I do hope AmeriGas will finally acknowledge and honor my appointment on 3/22/23.

AmeriGas Propane Prepaid for propane that was never delivered and can't get my refund!

I ordered propane on Dec 13, 2022, my acct was charged $352.77 on Dec, 15. Delivery was promised on Dec. 22, 2022, then again on Dec 26, Then again on Dec28. On Dec 30 delivery was promised on Dec 31st. I cancelled my service on Dec 30 and requested a refund. After many calls and attempts to get a refund this company still has my money, It is now March 17, 2023. Still waiting and they still have not picked up the tank!

Desired outcome: I want a full refund and the tank picked up!

AmeriGas Propane Amerigas Propane service

We are on prepay for propane delivery. We paid, they didn't deliver until December 7, 2022. When the delivery person arrived he said the tank was too low and turned off the gas. He walked away and didn't notify owners of the house. December, January no heat in Indiana. Burst pipes and now we have mold. I've been trying to get this resolved for about six weeks and the lack of customer service is amazing. I've been put on hold by 6-7 persons for them to resolve the issue.

AmeriGas Propane Grill tank

On Sunday 03/13/2023 I exchanged a grill tank at Wal-Mart at 1042 Manchester Expy Columbus Ga 31904. I got home and hooked it to my grill and I could not get the valve to turn clockwise or counterclockwise. I smelt propane while trying to turn the valve so I reached up and pushed the igniter and the grill exploded flames came out and burnt my hand and wrist and blew me backwards. I found out the valve was already turned so it filled my grill with gas whole I was trying to get the handle to turn. The valve is required to be closed after it is filled and remain closed while being transported on a placard truck to customer. The fill plant failed to close the valve and gas Amerigas CDL driver failed to check his load.

Desired outcome: I do not want this to happen again.

AmeriGas Propane Propane

On March 8, 2023 I contacted amerigas to fill a propane tank. I purchased a home for my disabled son back in August. On March 7th I found that he had run out of propane. I called America's and spoke to a customer service rep and opened an account. I was told that the refill service would be expedited since he was completely out of gas. WELL... not so fast, no delivery on Thursday, Friday, Saturday. I called today Monday, and was switched around to the Philippines spoke to a Mary G (🤣) who assured me the delivery would take place today (Monday). Well, after calling America's this afternoon and specifically telling Toccara, I wanted to speak with a supervisor in the US, guess what... I was again transfered to the philippines. I spoke to supervisor jes who said delivery will be tomorrow, according to her, I misunderstood mary g because the notes did not indicate she promised delivery today! Got to now run out to home depot and purchase a room heater for my son as the temps tonight will be in the low 20s. The absolutely worst propane company regardless of price!

AmeriGas Propane Picking up tank

I originally called Amerigas on Dec 6, 2022 and requested my account closed and have my 120 Gallon tanked picked up, the lady (who was in the Philippines) said she will schedule it and that I would receive a phone call - this did not happen - I sent them an email I received this response

"Thank you for contacting AmeriGas Customer Care. We regret to hear that you will no longer be our customer. The Service Team will schedule the removal. Once the tank is back in our yard you will receive a final notice stating your account has been completely closed, it will reflect any credit or balance owing at that time including a $149.99 removal fee if applicable. If you have further questions, we can be reached at [protected] Monday – Friday 7am to 8pm and Saturday 8am -5pm EST. You may also send us a new email via [protected]@amerigas.com"

This did not happen either

So I emailed again on 16 Jan 2022 and received this response

Hello,

Thank you for contacting AmeriGas Customer Care regarding your tank pick up. Tank pick up is scheduled only as we have a technician(s) available in the area to complete the task and only after all delivery services and emergency response tickets have been satisfied. As we are currently in our peak delivery season and winter, tank pick may be delayed, but will be processed as quickly as possible.

So I called again late Feb 2022 and got an actual pick up scheduled for Mar 8 2023 at 3PM - Amerigas was a no-show once again

I called at 4PM to ask why no one showed, she (who was in the Philippines) said she would file a complaint and that someone would call me back by 5 PM this did not happen either

Desired outcome: I just want my tank picked up I have been waiting for 3 months now

AmeriGas Propane Residential propane

I have residential propane with Amerigas that runs my furnace, stove, and hot water heater. They are supposed to monitor the tank and automatically come to fill it before it is depleted. They did not come to deliver the gas before the tank emptied. Now it's the middle of winter and I have no heat or hot water at my residence and they can't tell me when they'll be out to fill my tank. This should be unacceptable as a business because of the potential health implications, especially if I were an elderly person. Per California law, I can't even have another company come and fill it. What do I do? It's not easy, cost money, and time consuming to change propane companies because there's only two in the area and you rent their tank. Please implement some law that would prevent situations like this from happening. This may cost me hundreds in hotel rooms and I may need to miss work because of this situation. AmeriGas Propane Propane; residential non-delivery intervals

Twice now, Amerigas has allowed our 120gal tank to go empty, thus smelling propane gas, and leaving our 2-story house without heat (two stoves supply the only source of household heating). For many years we had excellent servie fm Amerigas because the local distributor took care of all areas of customer service locally. Then, when this arrangement was changed to out of area servicing, all the good went away. The 1st time our tank went empty was caused by not delivering @ the scheduled interval. The local Fire Dept was contacted upon smelling propane, and "some area/regional manager" had to get involved to get us an emergency fill. For the last few months no deliveries happen on time. When we contact Amerigas all the agents are apologetic but to no avail in getting propane even as an Emergency Fill. The area/regional manager has a voice mail but will not return calls to rectify current problems w/ delivery. His name is Robert Davis (ph [protected]). But it appears he has enough seniority in the company to even have superior supervisor to monitor his performance. Of lately, we've contacted the Amerigas phone line, the Amerigas Resolution Team, and Robert Davis. No one seems to be able to insist that the Route Facilitator provide good service to all clients, especially people like us that have been a customer for over 20 yrs.

Desired outcome: It is desirable for us to receive a response; however, I have contacted service at least (3) other times to no avail. Supposedly they answer within 3-5 business days. This hasn't happened. . . .ever!

AmeriGas Propane Propane delivery

Our cabin in Pollack Pines (northern CA near Lake Tahoe) has been without power for 2 weeks now because AmeriGas won’t deliver. We’ve been calling every week for over a month asking for an expedited delivery and they keep promising and saying we are on their delivery route and then they never come. Now we are in the middle of a blizzard and have no heat. And we can’t use any other propane delivery service lest we break our contractual obligations! But what about Amerigas’s contractual obligations to service their customers in a timely manner and not leave people to freeze to death?!

Desired outcome: Please send your truck to service our tank!

AmeriGas Propane An unauthorized delivery of propane when the price of propane was at the highest it has ever been

I live in Cora, Wyoming. In October, 2022, there was a delivery of propane to our property. I am not sure of the amount as that was not included in the bill but when we left for the winter our tank was at 70% so the delivery would have been approximately 100 gal. The cost was $459.64. When I contacted the company and told them I had not asked for a delivery I was informed that I was on automatic delivery. How I got on automatic delivery is beyond me. We have been customers for approximately 30+ years and during all that time we have never had automatic delivery. Furthermore, we are not in residence at our Wyoming home during the winter and thus do not need propane. It is interesting that we were suddenly on automatic delivery during the most expensive time for propane! I contacted the company by phone on 3 different occasions to question the bill and each time I was told they would look into it, but I never got a response. On January 28, 2023, I sent a letter via US mail to the company explaining my concern. In the letter I stated that I had not ordered the propane but since it had been delivered that I would pay an adjusted fair price. I have not had a response to my letter but instead have received a notice of overdue payment from a collection agency. I have never defaulted on a bill in my life and will not default on this one but I feel a fair price adjustment should be made considering I have never been on an automatic delivery schedule. This delivery was made at a time when the price of propane was the highest it has ever been.

Desired outcome: My desired outcome is that the price be reduced to a more fair value. I would also appreciate a response .

AmeriGas Propane Company won't pay refund due

We are new customers of Amerigas and were told we needed to pay an "estimated" charge of $496.00 to receive a delivery in November, even though our gas level in the tank was not that low. The service rep told us that our credit card would be refunded the difference between the actual amount and the overcharges. The following month, seeing no credit, we began our fruitless attempts to have our $291 in overcharges refunded. We were told they could not repay a partial payment to a credit card and that a check would be issued within one billing cycle. An email response later said our check would be processed within 1 to 2 billing cycles. No check. Phone calls do nothing. We are told a different story every time we call. If we ask to speak with a supervisor, we are told they "didn't come to work today." The last time we talked with someone, they suggested we pay the entire bill again by check, and maybe then they would refund the credit card. How are these practices legal?

AmeriGas Propane Billing issue

My name is April martins account number is [protected]

i had a service call on my propane tank on 10/31/22 which i was charged $194.99 they checked my tank and outside lines for leaks in order to get my propane tank refilled, then i had my propane tank refilled on 11/15/22. I called after the propane was refilled and told the person on the phone who set up the appointment my fireplace inside was not working and i needed someone to look at my fireplace inside the house and the connection inside my house, so she set up an appointment for 12/22/22. The tech came out on 12/22/22 and informed me he was not allowed to repair my fireplace inside my home or check my connections inside my house, he told me he would let his supervisor know they could not repair my fireplace so he would remove the charges to my account for $289.99 due to the fact that he could not repair my fireplace or its issues inside my home. I still received a bill for that service, I called multiple times to talk to a customer service rep they said they would remove the charges, they never did, my fireplace is not working, and I'm being charged for a repair from AmeriGas that did not happen the only thing the tech did when he came out on the 12/22/22 was tell me he couldn't repair my fireplace. I would like to be refunded for the service call on 12/22/22 for $289.99. I am very disappointed in this whole experience with AmeriGas. April martins

AmeriGas Propane Billing vs Delivery

On 11-9 22 I received a delivery to fill my tank. I paid the amount billed. $122.41

On 2-08-23 I received a delivery to fill my tank. I paid the amount billed. $240.23

On 2-15-23 I received a bill for a delivery. In order to continue to be timely on my bills, I paid the $120.39 bill. I then went out to check the tank level. It is at 28 %.

I looked up the phone number for Amerigas and called. I got a computer that told me that I have a $120.39 Credit.

Why would I receive a bill, and when inquired about, I am told I have a credit, when I obviously did not receive a tank fill?

AmeriGas Propane Propane service

If you live in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana you had better be aware that Amerigas propane prices are by far the highest in Montana. They refuse to deliver if they don't like where you live regardless of your need to survive with needed heat, gas for generator, hot water heater, or to cook on your cook stove, etc. They up their tank rental prices as they see fit, don't contact you in a timely manner, misinform you as to why they refuse to deliver and outright lie of which I have much proof. Ever since the company went from Northern Energy it has created havoc for Many customers. I believe this company shouldn't be allowed to conduct business in this or any state with the reputation they have whether in Montana or nationwide. Sincerely yours.

AmeriGas Propane Remove amerigas tank

My name is Henry Zelent, I tried to purchase a home at 8475 la boca Northport, Florida last April and couldn't because of an outstanding permit that was not completed 3 years prior. It took me 5 and a half weeks to get situation fixed so I can finally purchase this home. Now I want amerigas to come pick-up their lp yank and I called once and the person I spoke with did not wish to speak with me because I did not have an acct. With amerigas. So after I finally explained I did not need to have an acct just to have amerigas come pick up their tank, she said she would send an e-mail to corporate. I heard back nothing. Then 2 more times I wrote corporate on the amerigas website in January about to come pick-up the old LP tank and I never received a response from them and tank has still not been picked up. I have received no customer service from Americas at all. I do not understand how a co. Like this stays in business. I want tank removed

AmeriGas Propane Billed me $108 for a service call that never happened.

Billed me $108 for a service call that never happened on 02/04/2023.

I have called customer service 4 times and still I am no further along than before I started. They keep saying it will be resolved, but absolutely nothing is done.

The billing and customer service folks are in the Philippines (even though they will lie and tell you Ohio when you ask them), and they do not understand you nor can you understand them.

Worst company ever. I liked Admiral propane before Amerigas bought them out. But I HATE HATE HATE HATE amerigas.

AmeriGas Propane Everything about this company is terrible.

This is the WORST company that has EVER existed. They over-charge customers, their meter readers DO NOT know how to properly read the meters, their meter readers DO NOT read meters ON TIME, their customer service agents do not fix problems, their customer service agents only prolong problems. They just lie to customers over and over again.

Problem: I set up in September 2022 to have my account closed by October 14th because I was moving out of the rental property. They have not closed it and they are billing me for the new tenants' propane usage. I have talked to over 10 agents and emailed over 30 times to their "customer service" email. Everyone says they are going to help me with the issue. Then I was told to prove that I didn't live at that address anymore, even though the new tenants have set up an account at that address 4 days after I moved out! So, I had to contact my former rental agency to get the paperwork proving I moved out! Amerigas is now telling me that the meter was read wrong back when I moved out. Not my problem! I even included a picture of the meter reading the day we moved out, which coincides with our move out records from the rental agency! My husband works for a competent power company, so we are not idiots to how this whole process works. Every time I call, they won't transfer me to a supervisor without grilling me and being completely unhelpful! It takes me up to 15–20 minutes to get a supervisor after being told numerous times that there are no supervisors available. This is insanity that I have to deal with this!

I have included a picture of the meter that is DATE AND TIME STAMPED along with our move-out documents to prove when we moved out.

Desired outcome: I want this bill and late charges removed. It is not my bill. It is the bill of the new tenants! I will only pay for my portion which is from 09-15-22 to 10-14-22. The rest is the NEW tenants portion.

To the person helping the elderly woman this is what you should do. First, make arrangements to have another propane company deliver new propane tank. They will remove tank Ameri-gas has there, put it to side for Ameri-gas to pick up and once done call Amerigas to pick up tank. DO NOT PAY AMERIGAS AT ALL if they try to say the elderly woman owes money. She is elderly, probably on social security so amerigas cannot collect even if they go to court. Just insure she never has anything but social security in bank acct and never more than 2 months of benefits which is protected by Federal law. I have Amerigas myself and although I have regular deliveries and pay monthly if you need any kind of assistance with billing such as HEAP or anything else their customer service is absolutely worthless. If woman needs attorney help if Amerigas tries to threaten woman ref payments have her call HELPs lawfirm [protected]. It is a non profit lawfirm that helps elderly folk free or for as low as $20.00 monthly. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PAY THEM SINCE THEY HAVE BEEN TAKING ADVANTAGE OF HER!

A 100 year old woman, was setup on AUTO REFILL of AMERIGAS, she lives alone and is bed ridden. She pays her bills every month, I was going thru her bills and seen how much there charging her for every month. Let me say only this that is propane is water heater and stove, I use stove making breakfast literally less than 5 min 3 times a week, and she can't get in her tub to shower. One other thing is the pilot light has been off not lit for 3 months because of the heat water is hot without it. How is she using 50 plus gallon every other month and also changing her tanks 3 times in past year. MAIN THING IS THAT WE HAVE NEVER SEEN THEM NOT ONCE IN MY 4 YEARS WITH HER SHE IS HOME 24/7 SHE HAS NOT EVER SEEN THEM AND SHE SEES OUT HER WINDOWS AND GLASS DOOR. ALSO OUR NEIGHBORS NEVER HAS SEEN THEM SERVICING FILLING TANK WE ALSO HAVE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM PROVING THAT RECORDING 24/7 WE VIEWED IT NOT ONCE. AND AMERIGAS CHARGES HER MORE THAN HER ELECTRIC BILL. SHE WAS CONFUSED THINKING THE GAS BILL WAS ELECTRIC. IT STATES SHE OWES THEM OVER $456.00. THATS A LIE. THATS ELDERLY ABUSE. IM GONNA PURSUE IN GETTING HER SOME OF HER MONEY BACK . SO WHERE IS THESE TANKS AT AND WHO AND WHERE THE PROPANE went?
