American Automobile Association [AAA] Battery Service

Last Sunday 2/19 I had to call the AAA because my car would not start, the technician performed a diagnosis and told me that the battery was damaged and had to be replaced, when he went to look for a new battery in his truck he did not have the model for my car, so he started my car to get home, and told me to call the next day to have the battery replaced.

When I called the new technician, he told me that my car had a bad alternator, therefore he was not going to replace my battery, which was under the 3-year warranty with AAA, which totally contradicted the previous diagnosis.

I had no other options than to buy a new Battery at Auto Zone auto part at a cost of $229.00 to be able to use my car again.

I would like if you can help me to obtain a refund of the money that I spend unnecessarily for a bad service

Thank you so much.

Desired outcome: Refund

American Automobile Association [AAA] Cancel my towing ins, I am covered under my sister's Geico insurance policy

I stupidly have been a member of AAA towing PLUS, for 15 yrs. Let me explain. I have been insuring a 1995 Dodge Avenger, es. I was planning to restore it and put it on the road as a customized car. Time flew by, I kept paying car AND towing insurance on the car, Then I stopped paying it on the Avenger, BUT kept my AAA PLUS towing, Why did I buy the PLUS? Because I had the intention of having the car restored, and the only mechanic I trusted is about 90 miles from here, so, I needed The PLUS plan. Time flew by, and I kept paying the premium, ( The car has NOT been used FOR YEARS! This year, I finally decided to get the car on the road, I contracted a mechanic who did not fix the car, (He towed the car with his towing vehicle, I didn't use AAA)! I took him to court. I lost, he was an excellent conman.

My complaint, Why wasn't I notified by AAA that a renewal was coming up for the Towing Plus? I WOULD HAVE CANCELLED IT! NOW, I'm being charged for AAA towing AND Citibank is hitting me with late charges (I believe they took the late charge off). Citibank canceled my credit card, However, until You acknowledge my cancellation, AND reimburse Citibank, why should I be responsible for the AAAP PLUS? Did I sign up for a lifetime Towing Contract with your company?

I squandered enough money on a car that was/is NOT used. The car is Outside, not in a garage, I have to register AND have license plates on the car under my Homeowners Association rules.

Come on have some MERCY! PLEASE< PRETTY PLEASE! Reimburse Citibank the money I am being charged by your company, which already (automatically) has been taken out of my account, $164.00. FYI, I never use that particular card! It was used only ONCE in a yr. when You took money out of my account. I did not sign up for a lifetime contract.

I TRIED to contact (Trenton) last week, but the hardnosed saleswoman would not give me the time of day, you'd think the reimbursement was coming out of her pocket. Pls. CHECK MY RECORDS, a while back, a high-ranking AAA company rep. CAME TO MY HOUSE IN PERSON to reimburse me monies due to me because one of your agents messed up a car policy. (He now has his own agency, and he is not responding to my inquiry!) I'll get all of my neighbors to testify that the Dodge has been in my driveway for years! Do you think they like to look at a rusted/ primed old vehicle in a high-end neighborhood? Futhermore! Please have a look at my credit score, High 700's very close to 800, Which is SUPER excellent, do you think I "forget" to pay my bills on time?

Desired outcome: Please refund the money you charged Citi Dividend Card, account ending in 2804 from where you AUTOMATICALLY withdrew $164.00 without my knowledge and WITHOUT any advanced notice a renewal was due. I am covered by GEICO!

American Automobile Association [AAA] Cancelled membership

On 24 Sept. 2022 Sat. my vehicle was disabled on the highway 100+ miles from home, so I contacted AAA motor club which I had a Premier RV membership for 17+ years when AAA could NOT find a provider to tow me home after 4+ hours on the phone\stranded. In fact AAA motor club told me to find a way back on my own and then seek re-imbursement for expenses ($1100). Then I received a letter dated 12 Dec. 2022 Mon. denying me the option to renew my membership along with 3 other family members. So I was trying to understand why this happened when AAA provided ROTTEN service and left me stranded 100+ miles which I was still willing to give my money for another year. I contacted AAA for more clarification which was NO help in fact I was told "decision is final" so I finally spoke with the person whose name was auto signed on that letter. He chose to make the statement that it costed more to keep the membership active despite the 17+ year relationship and IF he was to make an exception for me he would have to for others...wow! (sad)

I learned also that AAA motor club were canceling membership(s) during the height of the 'COVID' pandemic (2021). I have $1k credit on my acct plus had 3 life insurance policies with AAA which I have cancelled and to date still have NOT received my $1k. Hopefully no ONE will experience the treatment that I received from this SORRY company. I also wonder how AAA motor club can give advice to the public via media when CLEARLY they are NOT a reputable entity. I will NEVER stop posting this experience until AAA motor club is OUT-OF-BUSINESS or sold. I ask that you NOT give this company any of your hard earned money and IF you do good luck on the road.

Desired outcome: Put company OUT of BUSINESS

American Automobile Association [AAA] Non return calls

I called AAA in Fresno Park Crossing in CA. Monday Feb. 13, 2023, I wanted information on airline flights so I pressed the button for flights. I believed I was redirected to a Travel Center, Angela answered and said she does not do international flights but she would take my information and send it to the people that do. I would get an email. I received No email. So Tuesday Feb 14, 2023 I called again. I was told Angela talked to me yesterday but she was on the other line and would call me back as soon as she was done with her call. I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL. This is not the kind of service that AAA usually offers. I went to a travel agent in my town who could help me.

Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Towing

I called AAA on 8 February 2023 at about 5 pm and requested that they send a wrecker to pull a vehicle out that was stuck in soft sand and they said that they would and that they had dispatched the call two hours later I called them back as I had not received any response from anyone from a tow company or AAA in two hours and I was wondering what was going on. I was told that the dispatcher told AAA that it would be before 10 PM. I waited another hour and went out and attempted to get the vehicle unstuck myself with my tractor/mower but got it stuck too. Then called back to AAA to see if they could get someone else. All they AAA would say was we are waiting on a driver to become free. I informed them that now it is pitch black out and now I have 2 vehicles stuck and could they try to get someone else as it is just getting worse and not better. AAA said they would update their dispatch. No way to keep customers who have been loyal customers for years.

Desired outcome: Get out here and keep customer updated as you promise and get us out of our situation like you say you will.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Denied recovery

We've been a member for +13 years and called on 01/26/2023 for a stuck vehicle. You denied it due to the recovery tow/contractor had to put on chains. You left us stranded and we had to pay the same tow/contractor $250

The service does me absolutely no good when I live in a snowy state! It would’ve been nice if you would put a tow $ cap and paid for some of it, but to out and out deny it and leave us stranded is RIDICULOUS!

Desired outcome: Chain up policy change and Reimbursement of out of pocket

American Automobile Association [AAA] Membership

I moved a new address out of state. I have had AAA for 21 years. I would be going on 22 this year. I got my new AAA card and it reflects that my membership started in October 2022 for club 036. I did not set this up as my membership for club 240 was good until Dec 2022. I have been on the phone to rectify this for over 2 hours, being transferred from one club to the next. Finally, I got a Member Service agent named Melissa at club 036. I was so frustrated with her rudeness that I asked her to cancel my AAA plus membership. I would like a call back to discuss this please. [protected]. I did not want to cancel, but she said it was my only option. Incredible! My membership number that has just been cancelled is [protected].

Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response and I would like to rectify the situation so that I can remain a member of AAA.

American Automobile Association [AAA] AAA Signature Visa

Hi,

The switch to Comenity bank has been a completely unsatisfactory experience. Service, support, and convenience have essentially disappeared. They lost over $2600 of my rewards direct deposit and act as though it's a transaction dispute which I will likely have to litigate, they don't have an online claims dispute, and they are generally difficult to deal with.

I've been a loyal AAA member since 1979 and thought BOA did a good job. It's unfortunate you picked Comenity because I am no longer willing to have a AAA card with them an will cancel it soon. You should have done your homework. I see a multitude of complaints about Comenity and Bread Financial which appears to be a clearing house for this type of credit card and most seem to have the same kinds of complaints.

Brian Langevin

Desired outcome: Pick a better AAA Signature Visa card bank

American Automobile Association [AAA] left stranded

January 10, 2023, I left my home early morning for appointments and errands. My F150 truck had a flat tire in my driveway. Phoned AAA they said they would have service to me That was 10 am. By 2:30 pm I phoned, they said driver would be there at 3 pm. At 3:45 they said driver will be there at 4 pm. Another call at 4:30, they said 5:30. Finally called at 7 pm and still no driver. Siad they would reschedule for next morning. I told them forget it I will change the tire in the morning myself, which I should have done in the first place. I would not have missed my appointment and wasted a complete day. So, tell me just what I am paying this service for. I have towing covered by my insurance so why am I paying you.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Roadside assistance

On 11/29/2022 I called AAA at 9:30am and requested that a technician come to my home and replace a bad battery, which was installed by AAA in June 2021. I explained that my 1977 Oldsmobile 442 had a dead battery and was only 18 months old. I said I drive it at least once per week to keep everything in good shape. NOTE: I have had this car for 45 years and it runs great and looks as good as new. The lady I talked to said she would get a technician out and ask me to stay on the line. She came back on a few minutes later and said there was no one available in my area to come out with a battery. I stated that I had AAA come out to my home 18 months ago and had put in the current dead battery. At that time the technician told me if the battery failed for any reason in the next 3 years, AAA would come out and replace the battery for free. The lady then said I should call back in an hour. I asked her if someone would be available then and she said she did not know. I said, “so you want me to just keep calling in every hour?” She then referred me to a supervisor. The supervisor said that they would look for an available technician and let me know when they find one so I would not have to keep calling. I said OK. At approximately 11:40am I received a call that they were still looking and would call me back in a couple of hours. I said fine. Over the next couple of hours I received text updates that Fernando and Sons [protected]) was assigned and enroute. At about 2:45 they called me back and said the could not find anyone. I then ask if I could take the battery out myself and take it to an AAA facility, get a new battery at no charge, then bring it back and install it myself. They said that I could not do that and that I would have to drive the car in or have it towed to verify that it was the battery that came with my car. I said that I was not going to have my classic auto towed and I could not drive it. The lady then referred me to Nexar Auto, and said they were the closest dealer to me affiliated with AAA and if I could get my car to them, they would change out the battery at no charge. They said that was all they could do or the battery would not be warranted, so the conversation ended.

On 11/30/2020 I called AAA again and requested someone come out and give me a jump start. At about 11:15am a AAA person came out. He drove his personal vehicle which looked like it was ready for the junk yard, had no uniform, and did not even test the battery because he had no tools to do that. He stated the positive battery terminal connection appeared to be loose and he tightened it (I had just put it back in, after I had removed it before he arrived. After about 10 minutes, the car started. He said to run it for about 10 minutes and it should be good. I then took it out on the road and drove around for 20 minutes. When I got back home, I turned off the ignition, then tried to restart the car and it did not start. Not even the interior lights turned on when I opened the door.

On 11/30/2022, knowing that I could at least get my car jumped, I went on the Nexar website and scheduled an appointment for 9am on Friday, 12/02/2022.

On 12/01/2022, I called Nexar Auto [protected]), and told them I had an appointment to bring my car in tomorrow at 9am to get a new AAA battery. The person I talked to said they did not have any AAA batteries and they had been trying for months to get AAA to send them. He said that they were supposed to arrive this week, but now was hoping they would come in in the next couple of weeks. So if I would have just taken my car in, I could not have gotten a new battery anyway. The person I talked to questioned why AAA said he was the closest to me because there were many others closer and recommended I go on the AAA web site to find somewhere else.

On 12/01/2022, I called AAA again, but instead of talking to anyone, I used the AAA ap link to attempt to schedule a technician to come out. I immediately received a text message saying that Fernando and Sons was scheduled to bring out a battery at 1:47pm. Then I received an update that it would be 3:49. Then I received an update that it would be 5:15. At at about 2:20pm, I called Fernando and Sons and asked if they were scheduled to come out to my house with a battery. The young lady apologized and said they don’t do that for our area and they are constantly receiving calls from customers because they also had received texts from AAA saying Fernando and Sons was coming out, but they were not.

I am extremely disappointed in AAA. After 39 years of membership, I do not plan to renew my membership, which expires April 2023.

NOTE: I filed a complaint with Texas AAA on December 2, 2022 and received no reply. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, who just notified me that AAA did not respond to their inquiry.

Desired outcome: I want to be reimbursed for last year's membership dues. Lance Elliott30507 Indigo Falls DrBrookshire, TX 77423Phone: [protected]

American Automobile Association [AAA] Home Owners Insurance

I called AAA for a homeowners insurance quote and was emailed a quote in writing. I proceeded to sign up on line and after I completed all the paperwork and questions for the sales rep she told me that the underwriter said that I had to switch my car insurance to AAA as well in order to get the Homeowners Insurance policy. This is very unprofessional since it was never discussed upfront nor is it referenced on the website. I would still like to switch but a supervisor was suppose to call me back last week to discuss and no one has. Please contact me [protected] Kevin Murphy

Desired outcome: I become a homeowners insurance customer of AAA

American Automobile Association [AAA] AAA roadside towing

Our vehicle stopped/cut off on i-75 hwy. Near square lake rd. Exit on saturday 12/31/22. We contacted aaa towing service, whom we've had for years. We were told a contracted tow company would be out. One came about 45 minutes later, but didn't have the right truck to tow our dodge-ram 3500 dually truck. He left, never sent anyone back with the right truck, & closed out the ticket with aaa! We contacted aaa a hour later to see if anyone else had been dispatched & was advised that they assumed the tow had taken place since the ticket was closed out. So, a new ticket was created & we sat for another hour with no communication from aaa that yet another tow company was not coming! We finally contacted a tow company on our own & had to pay out of pocket, in which we want to be reimbursed for! Then day 2 of aaa's inability to send a tow company with the right tow truck... Today... To have the same dodge-ram 3500 dually truck towed to our mechanic's location! We called today @ 1:00 pm, sat the eta 1-1/2 hours period, called aaa as usual, & again were told that a tow company had been out & resolved! Really?! When & where?! So, again demanded a supervisor & spoke with a woman jayjay, who was a member resolution rep! She attempted to resolve our issue, but couldn't. Still no tow company as of yet... 3 hours later as of 4:00 pm! We're one of many aaa tow members who have become frustrated with the subpar service that the tow assist service provides! And the list of tow companies your organization uses can't be updated, because 2 of the tow companies we called yesterday directly, stated that they do not have contracts with aaa and/or do not deal with aaa! Yet, we were given their names that they were dispatched for our towing assist! What a major disappointment aaa towing service has become! Time to look elsewhere for better member services!

Desired outcome: HAVE OUR $160+ OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE REIMBURSED ASAP!!

I have been trying to get my truck unlocked since 5pm o'clock today. Many of the customer's service rep acted as if it wasn't any urgency with me being locked out. I was lied too when i asked to speak with a supervisor that refused to give me her last name. I informed her that she was in violation of the FTC but she stated that I wasn't getting her last name. other rep stated that someone from the dispatch department would call back and no one ever called back. [protected] is the phone that i was calling for a 24hour roadside assistance that one of your rep informed me that everything was closed and for me try again in the morning. Misrepresentation from aaa rep all evening and i still don't have my truck unlocked.

I’m not certain what AAA considers “premium” service benefits, but being stuck, in the mud, on a severe incline, in the rain, for over 4 hour’s surely is not it. The service reps have ZERO concern or compassion, in fact they sound irritated that you’re bothering them. They give false information, and even the gentlemen at the dispatch office was dishonest about sending someone to me, and how much longer it should take… I will not be continuing my service.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Credit card

Since switincing over to comenity bank, I have had nothing but a bad expeirence. I had $500 of rewards and didn't get my bonus 5% for a travel voucher like I was promised. Recently, I set up automatic payment and it did not come out of my account. I called customer service and could not get through to a supervisor. I was on the phone for an hour with the representative who could not understand my question. I am still not sure why my money did not come out of my account and I am concerned that it will not come out properly next month. Comenity bank is not living up to expectations.

Desired outcome: Smooth transactions and good customer service.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Roadside assistance

On December 26, 2022, at about 4:15 p.m., I had two tires blowout, as a result of poor road conditions on Frederick Ave. (Route 355) near Clarksburg, Maryland. I immediately called AAA Roadside Assistance (Membership Number 438 212 [protected] 8), and they informed me that a AAA service provider/truck out of Clarksburg would be sent to assist me. The truck did not arrive until approximately 6:15 p.m.

The AAA Driver tried to fill one of the damaged tires but was unsuccessful. He then informed me that AAA Towing was being called; however, they could not reach me until 11:00 p.m. I told him that it would be extremely unsafe for me to wait that long on the side of a heavily traveled road, and emphasized that I am 78 years old and in need of my medication for heart, kidney and bladder conditions. I also told him that my cell phone needed more charging than the few minutes he provided in his truck.

I was very cold and feeling progressively ill. I respectfully asked him for a ride home which was only 15 minutes up the road. He abruptly declined to help, told me to call AAA Roadside Assistance, got back into his truck and drove away — leaving me completely stranded with a cell phone that had only minutes of power remaining. Realizing that my health was in jeopardy, I called 911. The Montgomery County Police were notified. They arrived approximately 7:30, helped to secure the vehicle, and drove me home.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., after charging my phone, a AAA Tow Truck Driver contacted me. He was at the scene of my blowout. I told him I could not leave the FOB with the vehicle for fear it would be stollen, and that I would make arrangements the next day to have the car towed and serviced by my local Automotive Repair Shop.

I have been a repeat member of AAA for a number of years, and when I needed Roadside Assistance it was ALWAYS immediate, highly professional, and respectful. This most recent experience was just the opposite and worse yet, I was completely abandoned at a time when my health was in real jeopardy,

I would like to be contacted regarding this matter. I can be reached at [protected].

Desired outcome: I will discuss an "outcome" when contacted, as requested above.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Insurance

AAA insurance through the local agent. We canceled as soon as we switched to Liberty Mutual.

Moreover, we called the agent, left a message, sent an email to the agent. Repeatedly also called AAA insurance to confirm cancellation. They asked for additional documents and sent it.

They keep using the autopay option and kept charging my account.

So I called my bank and the bank asked me to contact the Insurance company to resolve.

2700$ total charged to my account. It is a year.

Desired outcome: Refund of canceled amount.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Insurance coverage

Ok on or about Dec 3or4 I hit a deer when. I called AAA I was told that I did not have comprehensive coverage. I said that can't be right. I'm sure I told him I wanted it well customer service told me I needed to contact my agent who is /was. William Johnson. I tried for 3 days with no response. There was an option to reach out to his manger. Which I did her name is Leslie Hamilton [protected] I called and sent email everyday for the next 3 weeks or better I did not hear from her until Dec 2with a short E-mail saying oh we must keep missing each other. That was the only time she has ever reached out to me and her only response was policy will stand. I also have other accounts with AAA I had questions and there was not one person who cared to help me. They just left me on the wind. It was tom for my auto pay they were not even take my payments. Called left mgs nothing then the ssy day I got from Leslie I received a mgs from a young lady I'm billing say why is your payment late!? Really? During all this time I spoke to my local I called and called nothing. However I did speak to a lady who's name was Chrissy Cooper I think explained my issues with. Her and she told me how sorry she was this happened and that there are ways that they can go back and listen to those conversations and just see what was said. Because of course they are saying I never asked for comprehensive.. I called me local office they could not help. My biggest concern is I was treated like I was not even a member of AAA I have not been late on any payments or had any claims filed been with them for over a year. I was ignored and dismissed no one gave a fig if I was taken care of. The local office told me that Mr.. William Johnson is no longer with the company. Just seems like that was some pretty crappy customer service

and just the other day I bought another vehicle and transferred my policy to the new truck. Which is a1998

chevy S10 it took her about 2 seconds she said everything is the same. I asked how it can cost the same to insure a 1998 vehicle verses 2015 it just is she said because it is a truck. I asked her to please check. told me no need that was that. Well I checked and Iwas able to get it much cheaper some where else. I just do not get it. they act as if I do not deserve real honest customer service

American Automobile Association [AAA] In-depth Review
