FPL Deposit Rip OFF
Our Electric company is FPL. Each billing cycle we are billed twice for amounts over $200. 00. It is now (today) March 21 2009, and our power was shut off twice this month of March, only for payment amount of $156. 63 cents. We couldn't understand why we were shut off because we pay every two weeks...

FPL are too monolopized
FPL sent me a letter today, saying that because some of my payments have not been paid on time they have to up my deposit by 600. 00 due in 9 days. If we do not want to pay, we can opt for an auto withdrawal from our bank and we will not have to pay the additional deposit. This is a bunch of BS...

Awful customer service
They had my number and FPL knew that we are just 2 floors away from the electic room. Needless to say they cancelled the order and a new order was not placed again until 9:50am this morning, the day after. It is 3:45, and we still do not have power. The crazy thing is that they keep telling us that they cannot contact the technician and the technician cannot contact us! FPL came to the building yesterday morning and they did not turn on our power...

Contiually charging deposits

We gave them almost $600. 00 of it first and then they showed up like a week later and disconnected our power over what they said was an additional deposit. Does not Accept Visa
My choices with FPL were only Master Card and Discover! No Visa. I would like to know why they do not accept Visa which is the only Credit Card I own and with times being as hard as they are I cannot get approved for another card. I dont know many people who own Discover...

DEPOSIT ABUSE
FPL is charging an extra deposit from customers to which FPL's credit exposure is limited to maybe 3 months of payments. They have NO competition. We have NO choice. Imagine a business where you have no competitors and your customers will ALWAYS come back to you, FOR LIFE!!! Tobacco companies don't even enjoy that kind of customer loyalty...

ABUSIVE MONOPOLY
FPL is the only business I know of that is able to get an additional deposit from delinquent customers. Their tactics are effective; pay up or do without. Surely they must be the envy of many businesses that are suffering not only dismal sales but also aging receivables...

Turning off Power for 5 hours in the mid day
that on April 10th FPL will be turning off service for 5 HOURS!!! starting at 10:00 AM in our area. Work Request Number is 3001493 phone number is 800-966-4839. This is ABSOLUTLY ridiculaus (sp??) 5 HOURS in the heat of the day and on top of that I work from home on my computer and what about people who may (there are a lot of older people around here) who can't go w/o AC for 5 hours!!! FPL stole $418 out of my checking account. I was told that if I enrolled in the Automatic bill pay, my deposit would be waived. I enrolled and they used that access to my bank account to take out the deposit without my consent. They won't even call me back and it is impossible to reach a rational person at FPL...
